Chestnut
Hall was built in 1862 by a wealthy industrialist who made his fortune in the
California Gold Rush. It has had a long and colourful history over the past 150
years and has served as a private residence, a court house/jail and a Red Cross
centre.
For the past 15 years, this charming building has been the home to the Thorold
and Beaverdams Historical Society/Museum as well as the Thorold Genealogical Society. Website: http://www.tbhs.ca/ |
