Theatre was founded in 1989 and since its inception has presented over 60 professional
and Academy productions, countless workshops, special events and theatre training
for students. The theatre has firmly established itself as an integral part of
Fort Erie's cultural and tourism industry as well as gaining recognition throughout
the Niagara Region and upper New York State as an innovative and inspired professionaltheatre
company. Gypsy
Theatre plays an important part in the community structure of Fort Erie and the
Niagara Region; it has, for 14 years, successfully brought to the stage theatrical
presentations of great artistic quality and created amazing moments of living
art that have touched the lives of many grateful theatre goers. As
Fort Erie's only professional theatre it is ideally situated just 15 minutes south
on the QEW from one of the world's grandest natural wonders: Niagara Falls and
just a stone's throw away from Buffalo New York. Artistically,
Gypsy Theatre has been very successful these past 4 seasons creating 21 outstanding
productions in the newly renovated theatre facility at Central Avenue. The feedback
from audiences has been tremendously positive and, as ambassadors within Canada
to our American friends, Gypsy Theatre has been wonderfully rewarded with their
applause & respect, and as well some excellent reviews by The Buffalo News. Our
motto is: "Come out to play!" and we hope to see you at a performance this season.
