| From
adult drama and comedy, to family entertainment from across the country, the Kenan
Center's Taylor Theater offers a full range of programs in the performing arts
throughout the year. The 153-seat theater is actually a converted carriage house,
or more accurately, the stable which housed the carriage horses, and its original,
rough-hewn beams and ceiling add a unique flavor to the experience. FAMILY
PERFORMANCE SERIES The Family Performance Series continues to grow as enthusiastic
response has made this series one of the most popular and well-attended activities
of the winter and early spring. The goal of the Family Performance Series is to
present quality performances by nationally known performing artists to young people
and their families in the Buffalo Niagara region. Performers are selected who
can successfully relate to audiences while presenting a positive role model to
young people. The
Taylor Theater is located in a converted carriage house directly behind the Kenan
House at 433 Locust Street. Regular and wheelchair access is from the north side
of building via the sidewalk. Ample parking is located behind the theater. The
Family Performance Series makes it possible for local children to star in a spectacular
production! For the fourth year, the Kenan Center is proud to present the Missoula
Children's Theatre, which has been providing quality entertainment, education
and enrichment for all ages through the arts for more than 30 years! In just one
week, MCT transforms 50 or more students, from kindergarten through high school,
into a polished cast of singers, dancers and actors for one of the most delightful
performances you'll ever see!
Support for the 2006-2007 Family Performance Series has been provided by the New
York State Council on the Arts, a state Agency; NYSCA Artworks for Young People
Touring Initiative; Pennsylvania Performing Arts In Tour (PennPAT), the Lockport
Union Sun and Journal, and the Kenan Arts Council. Additional support has been
