On June 22, 1813, a brave young woman set out on a perilous 32 kilometer journey
and stepped forever into the history and folklore of Canada. Laura Secord was
a pioneer in Upper Canada whose heroic actions during the War of 1812 have resulted
in her becoming an enduring icon of Canadian popular culture and a designate Person
of National Historic Significance. The home from which she began her famous walk
has been restored to the 1812 era with authentic period furnishings. Travel
back in time to her lovingly restored homestead and be enchanted with her adventures
and surroundings as interpreted by authentically costumed guides. | Admission:
