The site of Rodman Hall is the historic Thomas Rodman Merritt house built in 1853 and includes property along the Twelve Mile Creek in the centre of St. Catharines. It is one of the premier facilities for the visual arts in the Niagara Region, presenting a dynamic and diverse exhibition program, featuring work of local, regional, national and international artists. It houses a permanent collection with over 1000 contemporary and historical works of art.

The facilities include: the Gift Shop, Art Rental shop, art instruction rooms, and an art reference library. In 1975, the Centre achieved status as a "National Exhibition Centre" with a major addition to its facilities.

Rodman Hall entered a new era in October 2003 with Brock University's acquisition of the facilities.
