Located just north of Stratford's city centre, the 496 seat Tom Patterson Theatre
is named after the founder of The Stratford Shakespearean Festival: This a small,
modestly-equipped theatre has developed a special persona, offering inventive
productions with special flare. It has been used for workshops and performances
of new Canadian plays and contemporary plays from abroad, for experimental productions
of classical theater and for chamber opera. The
stage is a roughly constructed runway thrust, providing a near-theatre-in-the-round
venue, which demands energetic performances from the actors. |
