Refered to as "the chapel " by its actors, the 260 seat Studio Theatre is located in downtown Stratford directly behind the Avon Theatre. The Studio opened in 2002 as part of the Festival's 50th anniversary celebrations. It has a modified thrust stage modeled after the Festival Theatre, with seating on three sides. The Studio has developed a reputation as a place for exploring all kinds of plays, including new and experimental works and rarely produced classics.
